Hi there all,
I am new to your group and have just purchased a Garrett 150 Ace metal detector. Have used it for the first time this weekend and so far have found some modern coins (oldest a 1969 old 50p). Also found a bullet cartridge from 1937 in a strip of land we have access to at the back of our house in St Martin. We went down Grouville Bay on the beach for a few hours and found an old shovel under the sand - nothing of any significance but at least we know the detector works!
I'd really like some advice of the best places to detect - really looking to find some old coins or anything of historical interest. Shame you can't detect around historical sites (although I guess most of them have already been excavated).
