I was using the Tesoro Silver Sabre, but i did something really stupid Sad

The srew on the control box came un-doe adn i put some 3 in 1 oil on the screw when tighting it and it leeked into the capalliers and circuit board, bur Rob drained most of the oil out, but it didn't reach the normal depth !!!! Sad Sad Sad Sad

I might go fro the ace 250 put for cs4 is cheaper on this website that rob gave me, but it includeds VAT and it all comes down to 194.75p and my dad said no way, it was 162.00 without VAT !! Sad

The Ace 250 is on ebay for 40.00 pound and in good nic !!!

Any more suggestions, I virtually looking fro a detetcor around the price of 150.00 including p&p, and that it is great on the beach and maybe a MINELAB, FISHER, C-SCOPE, make !! but the garrett ace 250 would be good fro satrters.

Do you think that Viking detectors are any good ??? Smile

I'd stay clear of Viking, just try and wait till a C-scope comes on ebay.

I think Davey is right, Smile wait a little, better yet save a bit more because for £250 to £300 you could get something twice as good, the 250 is okay as a starter machine same as the Viking, I have a whites eagle which is very old but pretty good, not as deep as the minelab but 6" no trouble probably better at finding gold and silver than the minelab. Cool
The new c scope machines are more reasonably priced than minelab or whites, just wait and get as good a machine as you are able it will reward you for the extra money you spend on it!

Yeah you need to save up about £250 like Ken say's, then that will buy you a Sovereign xs2a-fantastic on the beach and good on land too, I've got my eye's open on the forums I'm a member of Basketball sunny

Ok Cheers Smile

I think Rob has that detetcor and i've tried it out and it quite heavy ! Unless it's a different detector.

I wish there was a detector shop over here, but i guess it's a bad idea, as every man and his dog would be buying a detector adn pottering around the island !! Like a Star @ heaven cat monkey pig rabbit alien silent tongue

Hi Jonathan,
my Minelab is the same one and it is heavy after a couple of hours swinging the thing
but you can take the weight off with a harness or bungy cord clipped to your trouser belt
I haven't forgot about the labels u wanted, i ran out of them, will post some soon
a usefull site to chat about most makes of detectors technically is this one
http://www.findmall.com/index.php

I always follow Eric Foster (Pulse Induction) forum as he invented the PI + CS6PI & CS4 for C-Scope
you can ask him any questions here:

What you could do is lend a detector for a week or so to try it out! Very Happy
you could borrow one of my back ups as long as you don't oil them!
